Car rolls completely over in accident in Lincolnton Posted: 30 Sep 2011 03:44 AM PDT By Ronald Butler | Lincoln Tribune LINCOLNTON – On Monday afternoon around 4:15 p.m., the Lincolnton Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of North Laurel Street and East Sycamore Street to call described as a roll over vehicular accident. A Scion XB, which failed to stop for a stop sign, was struck on the driver’s side by a Honda Accord and rolled completely over, landing on its tires. The driver of the Honda continued on Sycamore Street and drove over a curb where she struck a parked Mustang and pushed it into a Toyota 4runner. She was transported to LMC with non-life threatening injuries. David Farnsworth, a witness who was working in his yard, said: “I heard the collision and looked over from my front yard to see the Scion landing on its wheels.” The driver of the Scion did not complain of injuries. |

Yemen says al Qaeda cleric Awlaki killed Posted: 30 Sep 2011 02:54 AM PDT SANAA (Reuters) – Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S.-born cleric linked to al Qaeda’s Yemen-based wing, has been killed, Yemen’s Defense Ministry said on Friday. “The terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki has been killed along with some of his companions,” it said in a statement sent by text message to journalists, but gave no details. |
