All you have to purchase for these activities is a good pair of walking/running shoes, replacing them every four to six months. All it takes is a decision that you want to live a healthier life, for you foremost, your family and friends. The benefits far outweigh anything you can imagine. Do you have arthiritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, are you overweight? Walking may help cure it all, yes,I said cure. I believe God gave us our bodies, not to do with them as we wish, but to take care of our bodies.Once you have made the decision to get moving, you will soon see and feel the difference, actually, walking, running and hiking, are very addictive. I have read it takes about three weeks to form a habit. I disagree. After a week, you will look forward to getting outside and moving. A change in your lifestyle means a change in your health. The least amount to time spent moving is 30 min, three times a week. But it won’t take you long to double the time as well as your distance. You are never too young or too old to start an exercise program, but of course, the younger the better. Please sit back and relax for a while and spend time reading their reasons for making the decision to get moving, be willing to draw inspiration from their point of view. I want to thank the ones willing to stop their walking/running to talk to me and allow me draw more insight into the subject of exercise.

THREE GOSPEL CONCERTS FOR 182nd ROCK SPRING CAMP MEETING Posted: 01 Jul 2012 09:53 AM PDT
DENVER, N.C.–With the 182nd Rock Spring Methodist Camp Meeting fast approaching campground officials have been busy making plans for various events that will take place between August 4 and August 11. One of their priorities has been securing singing groups for the various free no ticket required Gospel Music concerts held annually. For 2012 there will be three concerts. Festivities will begin, Saturday, August 4, 7 p.m. when the nationally known Anchormen take center stage for what is traditionally known as the “Big Sing”. “For a four part quartet harmony, delivered with sincerity and experience, look no further than the Anchormen, ” said campground trustee chairman, Van Barker, Jr. “The dedication they demonstrate has been evident with feedback from their performances such as electrifying, energetic, great quartet harmony and such fine dedicated young men.” Joining the Anchorman on the four group bill will be the Nashville, Tennessee based Shireys. Completing the lineup will be the Carolina Family Quartet and Southerners Quartet. As in the past a night will be reserved for area church choirs, local groups, quartets, trios, duets and solists. Southern, Contemporary, Country and Bluegrass musicians and singers are invited. This year's date will be Friday, August 3 at 7 p.m. To participate call Barker at (704) 483-2710. “Last year was the first time we've had an all Bluegrass Gospel concert and the audience acceptance was overwhelming,” stated Barker. “Based on that we decided to bring another Bluegrass Gospel concert to Rock Spring this year on Saturday, August 11 beginning at 7 p.m. that will feature four great groups of singers and pickers,” added Barker. The Golden Valley Crusaders will headline the concert. Rounding out the Bluegrass Gospel pickers and singers will be the Timber Ridge, Misty River Band and Destined 4 Glory. Each concert will be held under the campus open air Arbor built between 1830 and 1833 with sheltered seating for 1,000 and space for thousands of chairs outside the historic structure. “Practically anywhere in the concert area gives a perfect view of the stage whether sheltered or outside under the oak grove that surrounds the Arbor and admission is free,” said Barker. The Rock Spring Methodist Campground established in 1830 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 by the United States Department of Interior, a rarity for a religious property. Only when such properties are of proimary historical nature are they included in the register. The Rock Spring Methodist Campground is located 1/2-mile east of Hwy. NC 16 in Denver on Campground Road. For additional information call (704) 483-2710. # # # |
