| If you receive a message purporting to be from Facebook with the subject "LEGAL NOTICE OF SETTLEMENT OF CLASS ACTION" -- don't worry, it's legitimate. Facebook is sending proposed settlement notices to members of a class-action lawsuit against the company's use of Sponsored Stories. Facebook's offer of $20 million to settle the case was granted preliminary approval by the courts in December.

| Facebook added the ability to send voice messages to its Messenger app for iOS and Android Thursday. To send a voice message, tap the + button beside where you traditionally type a message in the Messenger app. Then select Record, holding the button down to speak. When you release the Record button, your voice message will be sent to your recipient. Along with today's update, Facebook has also started testing VoIP functionality in Canada.

| Google+ has joined Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in the 100 million-plus-unique-visitors-per-month club, but it's lagging in mobile, according to data from comScore. The network attracted 105 million monthly users in October 2012 compared to 65.3 million in October 2011, a 60.9% increase. Comparatively, Facebook had 822.1 million unique visits, up 4.3% from 788.2 million for the same period.

| Some of your favorite Twitter parodies -- Sarcastic Mars Rover, @NotTildaSwinton, even @SergeantBrody -- might bite the bullet under a new bill that would outlaw online impersonation. Arizona rep. Michelle Ugenti, a Republican, proposed House Bill 2004, which would outlaw online impersonation without permission and with malicious intent. Critics say it could violate the First Amendment and bring an end to those beloved parody accounts.
