Dyson’s New Fan Heater Works For All Seasons

Dyson, the company that re-invented the vacuum and made fans cool again, introduced a new product for all four seasons. The Dyson Hot + Cool bladeless heater fan can keep you warm in the winter and provide cool air in the summer. The AM05 model is an upgrade from the previous Dyson Hot and increases the velocity of the cool air by 33%.

AUSTIN — Mobile app Thirst won the SXSW Accelerator in 2012 as a Twitter magazine, of sorts. It analyzed Twitter in real-time, organized tweets by topic, and presented that content in an easy-to-read way. A year later, the app is back at SXSW, now with a slightly revamped version that (instead of focusing on Twitter) now focuses on what you read online. Launched three weeks ago, the new version is closing in on 100,000 downloads.

3D-Printed Skull Implant Ready for Operation

3D printing technology has helped replace 75% of a patient's skull with the approval of U.S. regulators. The 3D-printed implant can replace the bone in people's skulls damaged by disease or trauma, according to Oxford Performance Materials. The company announced it had received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its skull implant on Feb.

Free App Magically Turns Your iPhone Pics Into Videos

Takes, a new app making its debut at SXSW is attempting to reinvent how you take photos. The iPhone camera app takes photos as you traditionally might with your smartphone camera, but then goes a step further to turn those pictures into unique, shareable videos clips, complete with a soundtrack. “It’s as easy as taking photo, and you get a cool video,” Amit Man, founder of Takes, told Mashable.
