The Galaxy S 4 is available in two colors — Black Mist and White Frost, and it starts at $199.99 with a three-year plan. Those who don't like the idea of signing up for such a long plan can have the Galaxy S 4 sans contract, but the price is hefty: CA$700 ($683).

| So-net Entertainment, a Sony-backed Japan ISP, has launched a fiber-based Internet service that reaches download speeds of 2 Gbps, making it the fastest home internet in the world. The Nuro, as the service is called, is available to homes and small businesses in Tokyo and six surrounding prefectures, Computerworld reports. The upload speed is a little slower than download — 1 Gbps — but it's still faster than most of us get, even at work.

| Samsung, whose flagship devices all sport a plastic chassis, is considering launching the Galaxy Note 3 "phablet" with a metal exterior, SamMobile reports citing its insiders. The same source claims that a metal case was also in the works for the Samsung Galaxy S 4, but that design was dropped since Samsung could not mass-produce enough units fast enough.

| The most recent numbers show PC sales dropping like a rock, with many blaming the radical changes in Windows 8 for scaring away customers. A new rumor suggests the drop has prompted Microsoft to consider reversing course on at least one aspect of the new user interface. Microsoft may introduce a "Boot to Desktop" mode in the next major update to Windows, called either Windows 8.1 or Windows Blue, according to a post on WinBeta.
