| Streaming device company Roku has raised another $60 million in funding. In the competitive connected device space, Roku stands out as one of the most viable competitors to Apple TV and consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The company primarily makes connected devices, such as the new Roku 3 and also works with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to create Roku Ready devices that can accept a Roku Streaming Stick.

| Newsweek editor-in-chief Tina Brown and CEO Baba Shetty confirmed that parent company IAC is exploring a sale of the beleaguered newsweekly shortly after completing a redesign of its website. In an internal memo obtained by Politico, Brown and Shetty say they are pleased with the newsweekly's "digital turnaround" since shuttering its print edition five months ago.

| Amazon has begun production on five original TV series — Alpha House, Betas, Annebots, Creative Galaxy and Tumbleaf — that will debut on its U.S. and UK streaming video services later this year and in early 2014. Amazon unveiled 14 pilots for potential TV shows last month, asking for viewers to submit feedback and vote for their favorites.
