| Yahoo has acquired Qwiki, a mobile video app, the two companies announced Tuesday. The terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed, but AllThingsD reported that Yahoo paid around $50 million for the startup. "We’re excited to announce that Yahoo acquired Qwiki — a company that uses awesome technology to bring together pictures, music and video to capture the art of storytelling," Yahoo announced in a post on its Tumblr page.

| It looks like Google is playing up its "made in America" credentials just as Apple appears to be doubling down on a similar strategy. Google's Motorola unit is planning to break ads for its Moto X phone on July 3 in The New York Times, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal, according to Advertising Age. The ad, from Droga5, bills X as the "first smartphone designed, engineered and assembled in the U.S." Tagline: "Designed by you.

| The most viral ads on YouTube in June spanned across all genres — emotional, funny and disturbing. At the top of Unruly Media's list of last month's most-shared ads is a quirky rendition of GEICO's "Happier Than" series. Dove's "Real Beauty Sketches," May's most-shared ad, made the list again for the third month in a row. Evian's "Baby & Me" and Kmart's "Ship Your Pants" also return from May's most-shared ads list.

| The Winklevoss twins have filed a proposal with the Securities and Exchange Commission that would let any investor trade Bitcoins. However, the idea is viewed as a long shot. The proposal is to create an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that would solely track Bitcoins. The move would remove the stigma of money-laundering and illegal activity associated with the currency.
