| By the time South by Southwest Interactive wrapped up earlier this week, it had reached worldwide party status. More than 1 million tweets in 19 languages flooded the Internet over the course of the five-day conference, representing 205 countries around the world. The U.S. generated a vast majority of the chatter (71%), with the UK and Canada a distant second and third (4.6% and 4.4%, respectively).

| Thousands of ambitious social media users are experimenting with creative video on Vine. Stop-motion animation and illustration, for example, play huge roles on the new social platform. However, comedy is quickly becoming one of the most powerful creative forces on Vine. Some users are even building six-second clips around new sketch characters or hilarious bits, some of which have already gone viral.
