Administrators are testing out the use of iris scanners to control access to certain buildings. Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. has been evaluating the scanners for four months. Students and faculty have the irises in their eyes scanned by looking into a mirror that has a camera behind it.

Nokia Unveils Lumia 1020 Smartphone With 41-Megapixel Camera

Nokia has officially unveiled the Nokia Lumia 1020, a Windows Phone with a 41-megapixel camera. The phone will be exclusive to AT&T in the United States, available July 26 for $299.99 with a two-year contract. Preorders begin July 16. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop unveiled the phone, calling it a "flagship device" at an event in New York City on Thursday. The phone's camera is capable of capturing 41MP images in either 3:2 or 16:9 aspect ratio.
