| Twitter announced it was adding photo filters to its iOS and Android apps Monday. Twitter added its own image hosting service back in 2011 and over the last 18 months has become progressively more interested in images. Reports of Twitter photo filters first surfaced in November with the understanding that Twitter wanted to compete against Instagram.

| Twitter passed a geeky milestone on Sunday night: Its user IDs broke into the 10 figures. Adrianus Wagemakers, the founder of the Amsterdam-based Twopcharts, which tracks the most influential Twitter users by city, says that there was no account number 1 billion. Instead, Twitter registered account 1000000002, which was quickly suspended. Twitter assigns a unique user ID to everyone who joins the network.

| As Instagram closes its doors to Twitter, Pinterest is taking up the slack. Pinterest quietly added support for Twitter Cards (i.e., expanded tweets), so you can check out a pin someone’s shared on Twitter without actually having to head over to Pinterest itself. A spokesperson confirmed that Pinterest added Cards support early last week.
