| Billboard has just added YouTube views to its methodology that ranks the top 100 songs in the United States. The change immediately pushed Baauer's 2012 single "Harlem Shake" to the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 on Wednesday. "Harlem Shake" is best known as the music featured in the viral "Harlem Shake" video meme.

| Yahoo has redesigned its homepage, the first such move for the company in four years. The new design, which also extends to the mobile versions of the site, is not a dramatic overhaul by any means. The main menu of Yahoo's many services still sits in the upper left corner of the homepage, and a large part of screen real estate above the fold is taken over by a carousel that shows currently breaking news.

| Apple's iPhone 5 was the best-selling smartphone in the world in Q4 2012, according to the latest data from Strategy Analytics. The iPhone 5 took the crown from Samsung Galaxy S III, but the iPhone 4S also managed to overtake Samsung's flagship. According to Strategy Analytics' data, Samsung shipped 15.4 million Galaxy S IIIs, while Apple shipped 17.4 million iPhone 4S units and 27.4 million iPhone 5 units in Q4 2012.
