Spotify and Volvo Partner Up for a Voice-Activated, In-Car Music System

Volvo has teamed up with Spotify to launch a voice-activated, in-car music system for its cars. The system, called the Sensus Connected Touch, will allow drivers to stream music (via a 3G/4G dongle or a mobile phone connection) through their dashboard. The system will be either touch- or voice-activated, with the drivers being able to start music simply by saying the name of a song.

Android 4 Usage Finally Eclipses Gingerbread

The latest versions of Android, 4.0 and up, have surpassed Gingerbread as the dominant operating system for the first time. According to the Android Developer' Dashboards section, 45.1% of users are running Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) and Jelly Bean (4.1 and 4.2) on their smartphones — just squeezing past the 44.2% that Gingerbread (2.3) boasts.

Ferrari has launched a V12-powered hybrid supercar with a 789-horsepower gasoline engine and a 160-horsepower electric motor. The Ferrari LaFerrari, as it's called, goes from 0 to 62 mph in less than three seconds (Ferrari's numbers) and has a top speed of 205 mph. The car's electric motor is highly efficient at low speeds, and its gasoline counterpart reaches full efficiency at high speeds, according to Ferrari.
