| Monday, grumpy Monday. Sounds like the typical beginning of any old week, right? Well, SXSW attendees were particularly "grumpy" this week, as they lined up for a chance to meet the one and only Grumpy Cat. It seems the feline celebrity had a profound impact on the social media crowds, too. Every 27 seconds, someone posted about Grumpy Cat. Although, not all of the chatter originated in Austin, Texas — 6% came from India.

| AUSTIN — Klout CEO Joe Fernandez stopped by Mashable House at South by Southwest to chat about the importance of relationships between marketers and online influencers. His San Francisco-based startup, which since its quiet 2009 launch at SXSW has measured engagement and activity on social networks to determine people's online influence, rewards users through Klout Perks.

| Last week Facebook unveiled its first major update to the news feed since the feature launched nearly seven years ago. Like every change the company makes to the site, it's been met with mixed reactions. Some praise the introduction of multiple news feeds, mobile consistency and a bigger focus on pictures, as well as a cleaner, more organized look.
