Scientists at Spain's Universidad Carlos III en Madrid developed a software system for augmented reality glasses that will allow professors to "see" how their students are understanding class material. The proposed system, called Augmented Lecture Feedback System (ALFs), requires professors to wear augmented reality glasses in order to see symbols above students' heads and to facilitate communication between students and professors.

Japan to Launch Talking Robot Into Space

Kirobo — a humanoid "robot astronaut" that can converse with humans in space and on the ground — is scheduled for launch to the International Space Station on Aug. 4. RoboCarp Underwater Vehicle Swims Like a Real Fish

A team of researchers has developed a robot fish that imitates the movements of a carp. They're from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and they're calling their invention, of course, RoboCarp. The robotic fish, or autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), is about five feet long, weighs 22 pounds and can dive to six feet.
