Over the last week, several Instagram users began reporting that the photo-sharing app was locking them out of their accounts, and asking them to confirm their identity by showing photo ID. These incidents, which CNET first covered Tuesday, were reportedly a result of Instagram's new terms of service, which came into effect on Jan. 19. At first, users were worried that their accounts were hacked.

Pinterest Introduces 'News' Feature to Improve Content Discovery

A newly launched website gives you a chance to glimpse into what's going in the world, six seconds at a time. Vinepeek aggregates Vine videos in real time, showcasing an endless stream of six-second snippets of everyday lives. Vinepeek takes inspiration from This Is Now, a real-time aggregator of Instagram pictures, and does the same thing with videos created with Twitter's newly released social video app, Vine.
