[International Games Day @ your library] IGD inspiration - live Pac-Man anyone?

We just wanted to let you know that International Games Day @ your library has
posted a new item, 'IGD inspiration - live Pac-Man anyone? '

This is a great idea for an IGD activity from Amanda Bradley of Aulds Library in
Bossier City, LA - a live game of Pac-Man! Just be careful to remind the players
not to actually eat the dots...

Give them a hand: Gesturing children perform well on cognitive tasks Posted: 26 Jul 2013 04:17 PM PDT Young children who use gestures outperform their peers in problem-solving tasks, says a new study. Children aged between two and five were asked to sort cards printed with colored shapes first by color, then by shape. Making this switch can be tricky but the study found that kids who gesture are more likely to make the mental switch and group the shapes accurately.
