Free Craft & Vision Photography eBook

If you’re a regular reader, you know that I love (and often review) the photography ebooks produced by Craft & Vision. Their books are always priced at the affordable rate of $5.00, but this month they’ve gone bananas and are releasing a completely free book. And it’s really good.

Free Photography eBook from Craft & VisionCraft & Vision: 11 Ways to Improve Your Photography is a collection of (you guessed it) eleven distinct sections on various photographic subjects. It’s just shy of 70 pages and distributed as a PDF so you can read it pretty much anywhere that has a screen. A few of my favorite topics from the book include:

  • Learn to Direct the Eye
  • Understand the Stages
  • The Power of the Moment
  • Forget Lens Stereotypes
  • Make Stronger Portraits

Most of the topics are focused on the artistic side of photography rather than being gear-focused and thus they apply to photographers of all abilities and coming from a variety of gear backgrounds (DSLRs, point-and-shoots, even camera phone photographers can learn from the book). Whereas most of the Craft & Vision titles feature a single author, this is a compilation of works from a bunch of really smart photographers including Andrew S. Gibson, Martin Bailey, Nicole S. Young, and David duChemin.
