Lincoln County Sheriff's Office News Release

May 8, 2012

Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Investigators, Lincolnton Police and North Carolina Probation and Parole executed three search warrants at locations in and around Lincolnton Monday afternoon.

Officers executed the search warrants at 615 Car Farm Road, 134 Mauney Drive and 1661 Cloudburst Circle Monday afternoon following a lengthy undercover investigation that had been going on since February.

Investigators seized approximately $2,000 in cash and less than one ounce of marijuana from the residence on Car Farm Road but nothing was found at the other two locations.

Investigators arrested Robbie Lee Caldwell, 28, of 134 Mauney Drive, Lincolnton on a charged of Trafficking in Cocaine in connection with an undercover buy purchase in March of 2012.  He was released on a $75,000 secured bond.

Narcotics Investigations Lt. Jason Reid said, "The results of the undercover operation will lead to several more arrests in the near future and praised the cooperative effort of the three agencies."

Officers say they are grateful for the support of the community and their continued use of the TIP Line to provide information that assists in removing drug traffickers from our neighborhoods.

Do not assume that the deputies already know or that some other neighbor will call.  If the activity keeps occurring, keep on reporting it.  The TIP Line numbers are 704-736-8422 or 704-736-8606.

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office News Release

May 8, 2012

Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff's detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store south of Lincolnton Monday night.

Deputies were dispatched to Ricky's Food Mart, 1899 Gastonia Highway, Lincolnton, NC at 10:33 p.m. after the Communications Center received a call from the clerk on duty reporting the armed robbery.

The clerk told deputies a black male wearing all black clothing entered the store, pointed a handgun at her and demanded money.  The clerk removed the cash drawer and gave it to the man.  He removed the money and forced the clerk to get under the counter.  He fled from the business running south on Gastonia Highway.

Detectives and a K-9 unit were called to the scene and the K-9 tracked the man for a short distance before losing the scent.  Investigators believe the suspect got into a vehicle parked a short distance from the store.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet-8 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds with a skinny build.  He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black shoes.

Adam and Baker District deputies along with Detectives Robin Powell, Danny Renn and Mark Stamey responded to the robbery and are continuing the investigation.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 704-732-9050 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909. You can remain anonymous and if your Crime Stoppers tip leads to an arrest you could receive a reward of up to $1,000.
