Minecraft Creations Enter the Real World With Augmented Reality App [VIDEO]
Saturday, November 24, 2012 1:59 PMAnita Li

Imagine an alternate reality that blends Minecraft with the real world. Now, it's possible with a new iOS app that brings your best block creations to life.

Entitled "Minecraft Reality," the app uses "advanced computer vision" and augmented reality to map and track real-life surroundings using a camera phone; it then lets users place their Minecraft worlds in reality, according to its official website. Users can even save their designs in a specific location for others to see.

Examples include: a Mustang on a lawn, a pirate ship at the office and a plane on top of washing machines. For more, check out the video above.

What Minecraft creation would you show off in the real world? Tell us in the comments below.

Apple Adds Six More Samsung Devices to Ongoing Patent Lawsuit [REPORT]
Saturday, November 24, 2012 1:03 PMJoann Pan

Leading up to the second lawsuit between Apple and Samsung, both tech giants are adding to their respective lists of patent-infringing products from the other side.

On Friday, Apple motioned to add six recently released or upgraded Samsung products to be considered in court. The Samsung devices include the Galaxy S III running Android Jelly Bean, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Rugby Pro and Galaxy S III mini, according to a FOSS Patents report via Engadget.

The patent-news blog points out that all the aforementioned additions were released after the fifth-generation iPod touch, which Samsung has requested be included in the lawsuit -- "a fact that should make it difficult for the court to allow Samsung the addition of the fifth-generation iPod touch (apparently already released in early October) while denying Apple's latest proposed additions as untimely."

Samsung amended its infringement contentions this week to include the latest Apple products that recently hit store shelves: the fifth-generation iPod touch, the fourth-generation iPad and the iPad Mini. The Korean company states that the products were not available when it filed its court papers on Oct. 1. Samsung believes the devices, in addition to the iPhone 5, infringe upon several of its wireless patented technologies.

The jury trial for Apple vs. Samsung will take place on March 31, 2014 at 9 a.m. in the Northern District of California. The patent trial will scrutinize the smartphones and tablets released after the initial lawsuit that was settled in August in Apple's favor.

Do you think the California court will accept Apple's request to expand its patent lawsuit to new devices? Tell us in the comments below.
