Washington Post Moves Social Reader Off Facebook

The Washington Post Company has decided to move its Social Reader app -- which displays stories from Washington Post Co. publications and 90 other news organizations, including this one, on Facebook -- to a standalone site at socialreader.com, the company told Mashable Friday. Beginning this weekend, those who click on stories in the Facebook app will be immediately relocated to socialreader.com.

'The Daily' Sings Goodbye in Music Video

The Daily published its last edition Friday, and remaining staffers put together a music video to say -- or, rather, sing -- goodbye to the tune of "So Long, Farewell." The video primarily features The Daily's younger staffers, but Editor-in-Chief Jesse Angelo and Publisher Greg Clayman make appearances from their offices as well.

For Sale in China: Potato Chips Flavored by Pepsi and Chicken

Pepsi is trying something out in China that you probably won't see elsewhere for a while: A Lay's potato chip flavored by a mix of Pepsi and chicken. The taste has been described as "vaguely similar to barbecue with a sugary aftertaste" and plays off the fact that cola-flavored chicken is very popular in China. The ad above references the trend by showing a man running out to get Pepsi for his girlfriend, who uses it to cook chicken.

Apple Stock Falls 3% on Disappointing iPhone 5 Launch in China

Apple's stock dropped nearly 4% in early trading Friday, falling to as low as $509 a share on concerns about demand for the iPhone 5 in China. The latest iPhone went on sale in China Friday, but according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, the initial reception for the device was much more tepid than in previous years.
