Apple Partially Fixes Australian Map After Police Complaint

Apple has fixed -- partially, at least -- its map of Mildura, Australia, after local police advised people not to use the company's Maps app because it showed the city in the wrong location. According to the Australian, Apple Maps now shows the correct location of Mildura for travelers coming from South Australia, but not Melbourne.

ELF Electric Vehicle Powered by Pedaling and the Sun

Called "ELF," the vehicle is the meeting point between a bicycle and a car, according its Kickstarter page. FTC: 'Little Progress' in Privacy and Children's Apps

Gmail Is Down for Some Users

Gmail service went down for many users just before noon Eastern Time on Monday. The outage appears to be intermittent, with the service first going down for some users for about 10 minutes. Service was then briefly restored, but soon afterward all access to mail.google.com appeared to stop. Gmail on mobile was down, too, although it was working during the initial outage.

Apple's 'Steve Jobs' Patent Is in Trouble

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has filed paperwork to declare a key Apple patent invalid. The patent has to do with how the multi-touch screen works on an iPhone or iPad -- most notably how lists bounce when you get to the end of them -- and has often been referred to as the "Steve Jobs" patent since he's listed first among the many inventors (Scott Forstall is second).
