This week, 89 African elephants in southern Chad were slaughtered for their ivory tusks, the worst such incident since the killing of 300 elephants a year ago in Cameroon. To stop the massacre of these stately beasts, conservation groups are fighting poachers with eye-in-the-sky drones.

We're all aware technology has penetrated into far corners of the globe. But here's one stat that's difficult to digest: There are now more people who have mobile phones than access to clean toilets. The U.N. reported Thursday that just 4.5 billion people (of the global population of 7 billion) have access to clean toilets compared to the 6 billion people who have access to mobile phones.

The Anti-Defamation League is going viral with an inspiring video that asks viewers to imagine a world where hate-driven violence does not exist. The 80-second clip, released Wednesday, features fake headlines about people like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Anne Frank, imagining what they could have accomplished had their lives not been cut short by violence.
