Neuroscientist Says Human Head Transplant Is Possible

An Italian surgeon is reportedly convinced that the technology now exists to carry out a full-on human head transplant. The science — according to Dr. Sergio Canavero, a member of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group — is based on the successful head transplants of animals. In 1970, Dr. Robert White, a neurosurgeon, successfully completed the procedure between two rhesus monkeys.

Drone Project Modeled From Incredible Images of Birds in Flight

Stanford University students are capturing incredible images of birds in mid-flight in order to study their movements, behavior, and ultimately create the ideal drone. The ultra-high-speed Phantom camera they use can shoot upwards of 3,300 frames per second at full resolution, and an amazing 650,000 at a tiny resolution, which enables the students to capture the incredibly intricate movements of a bird in flight.

Boston University Sues Apple for Patent Infringement

Boston University is taking Apple to court for patent infringement. According to the Boston Herald, the university's suit claims that the company is using a patented semiconductor in its products. Filed in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts, the suit says that the component, patented by engineering professor D. Moustakas in 1997, is used in numerous products including the iPhone 5, iPad and MacBook Air.
