ZTE's Upcoming 5-Inch Smartphone Will Be World's Thinnest

China's ZTE plans to break some records at CES 2013, among them being the one for the thinnest 5-inch smartphone. The ZTE Grand S sports a 5-inch, 1920x1080 pixel screen and a 13-megapixel camera while being just 6.9mm thin. Other specifications haven't been officially revealed, but Unwired View reports the device is likely to have a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2,500 mAh battery and a ceramic case.

Apple and Intel are working together to create a Bluetooth-equipped smartwatch in 2013, according to one Chinese technology news source.Tech site TGbus says the watch would connect to the iPhone, allowing you to remotely operate the phone from your wrist. That means you could send out text messages, answer calls, or even update your Facebook status on the device while your iPhone is in a pocket or charging nearby.

Print Book Reading Wanes as E-reader Usage Surges

Bookworms are choosing e-readers over hardcovers and softcovers more than ever, says a recent Pew Research Center study. A month-long study found more Americans readers, ages 16 and older, are embracing e-readers. The number of traditional readers dropped from 72% to 67% from last year, while digital bookworms jumped from 16% to 23%.

Prices Drop on Nokia Lumias

Only a few months after Nokia introduced them to the U.S. market, Lumia phones are already available at much cheaper prices, the The Wall Street Journal reports. The company's flagship phone, Nokia Lumia 920, was launched through AT&T for $99. That price still stands, but the phone is available at Amazon for as low as $39. The Lumia 822 was originally available for $99 at Verizon, but now the company is offering it for free with a contract.
