'Washington Post' to Go Behind Metered Paywall This Summer

Following the success of the New York Times' metered paywall (among others), the Washington Post announced Monday that it will begin charging for full digital access to its website and mobile apps. Come summer, readers will have to buy a subscription to the 135-year-old news publication if they want to read more than 20 articles per month online.

New research has found that the number of companies purchasing cyberinsurance increased 33 percentage points over the past year. Several industries are driving that growth. Professional, business, legal, accounting and personal services firms grew by 76 percentage points across 2012.

Amazon Launches Imprint for Literary Fiction

After launching imprints for lower brow (and frequently, better-selling) genres like fantasy and sci-fi, mysteries and thrillers, and romance, Amazon's Publishing Group is establishing a seventh imprint for literary fiction, called Little A. The publishing group produces and distributes books in both electronic and print formats, the latter through a partnership with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Canada Takes on 'Social Farting'

Twitter's Jack Dorsey Wants to Be Mayor of New York — Someday

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey revealed in a 60 Minutes profile Sunday night that he would like to be mayor of New York — someday. Dorsey didn't expand much on the thought and it doesn't appear that he's considering the current race for mayor caused by Michael Bloomberg's impending exit from the post on Jan. 1, 2014. "What I love about New York is just the electricity I feel right away," Dorsey told interviewer Lara Logan.
