The iPhone Could Have Been Called 'TriPod' or 'Mobi'

"I just got a message on my TriPod!" Sounds a little odd, doesn't it? Well, it could've been a reality, as Apple considered the names TriPod, Mobi and TelePod — among others — for its iPhone, according to former Apple head of advertising Ken Segall. Other names that Apple considered calling its iconic phone were TelePod and iPad, 9to5Mac reports.

LG Unveils Quick Cover for Optimus G Pro

LG unveiled a special case, called the Quick Cover, for its huge Optimus G Pro smartphone, which debuted last week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Quick Cover takes inspiration from Apple's Smart Cover: The Optimus G Pro's screen automatically turns on when the cover is lifted, but shuts down when the cover is placed on top. What's more, the cover doesn't get in the way of the phone's wireless charging or NFC capabilities.

Netflix Still Has No Plans for BlackBerry 10

Netflix isn't coming to BlackBerry 10 any time soon. The company confirmed to AllThingsD that it has no plans to develop a native or Android-ported version of its mobile phone app for BlackBerry 10 smartphones. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise. More than a year ago, Netflix confirmed that it would not support BlackBerry devices, including the then newly-updated PlayBook tablet.
