The New York-based festival has invited people to submit entries using Vine, an iPhone app that makes six-second, looping videos. Since the announcement last month, hundreds of entries have been posted to Vine using the official hashtag #6secfilms.

The Tonight Show host Jay Leno, who has headlined the show for 22 years after replacing Johnny Carson in 1992, announced Wednesday that he's abdicating his throne in 2014. Jimmy Fallon will move from his Late Night with Jimmy Fallon gig to Leno's post next spring, NBC revealed. The show's studio will also move from California to New York City's 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where it was originally taped.
