'New York Times' Kicks Off Poetry Month With Haiku Tumblr

April Fools' Day and the first day of National Poetry Month happen to share the same date, and the team at The New York Times came up with a side project that seems to celebrate both — or does it? The media giant started a new Tumblr on Monday called Times Haiku: Serendipitous Poetry from The New York Times. It takes sentences from recently published articles and breaks them into the Japanese form of poetry known as haiku.
