Teen Creator of 'Clouds' Viral Music Video Dies of Cancer

Zach Sobiech, creator of the "Clouds" song that became a viral YouTube hit, died of cancer on Monday. He was 18. "Zach was at home and at peace with those he loved most," the Children's Cancer Research Fund said in a statement announcing Sobiech's death.

The 18-year-old student from Sarasota, Fla. built a custom, cloud-based "artificial neural network" to find patterns in genetic expression profiles to diagnose patients with an aggressive form of cancer called mixed-lineage leukemia (MLL).

Yahoo Acquires Tumblr, Promises 'Not to Screw It Up'

The speculation is over. Yahoo has acquired Tumblr, according to official statements from Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and Tumblr CEO and Founder David Karp. In a somewhat odd press release, Yahoo promises it will not "screw up" the popular microblogging service. "Per the agreement and our promise not to screw it up, Tumblr will be independently operated as a separate business.
