American Express Lets You Buy Stuff on Twitter by Using a Hashtag

American Express is upgrading its Sync program with Twitter to let cardholders buy stuff by using a hashtag. Starting Monday, AmEx customers who sync their cards can buy items if they use the right hashtag. The first such item is a $25 AmEx gift card, which will go for $15 if you tweet #BuyAmexGiftCard25. Other offers will be rolled out on Wednesday Feb.

More Than 100,000 Vine Videos Were Posted to Twitter This Weekend

Vine users shared 113,897 videos on Twitter on Saturday and Sunday, or 2,324 videos every hour, according to data from SimplyMeasured, a social media analytics company. Much of that was due to a combination of three big events: the Grammys, New York Fashion Week and the snowstorm that hit the Northeast.

Report: Twitter Now Charges $200,000 For Promoted Trends

Twitter continues to up the price for one of its promising money-makers: promoted trends. The social network now charges companies $200,000 a day to buy a Promoted Trend in the U.S., according to a report from AllThingsD. That's more than twice the $80,000 that Twitter charged when it first introduced promoted trends back in 2010.

Amazon to Stream CBS's 'Under The Dome' Exclusively

Amazon will get exclusive streaming rights to CBS's Under The Dome TV series this summer as the online retailer continues to beef up its entertainment offerings.
