JCPenney has replaced Ron Johnson as CEO just more than one year after he joined from Apple, the company revealed in a statement late Monday. Johnson helped spearhead the strategy for Apple's massively successful retail operation and tried to apply some of that magic to JCPenney. He attempted to refresh the JCPenney shopping experience by getting rid of the retailer's coupon program, but ended up frustrating customers instead.

If Fox doesn't prevail in court vs. startup Aereo, News Corp. will consider making Fox content subscription-only, an exec from the company said on Monday. News Corp. President and COO Chase Carey (pictured) made his remarks offstage during the NAB Show in Las Vegas. "Aereo is stealing our signal. We believe in our legal rights, we’re going to pursue our legal rights, and we believe we’ll prevail ...," Carey said, according to Variety.

Facebook Expands Pay-to-Message-Celebs Program to the UK

UK Facebook users wishing to send a personal message to Olympic diver Tom Daley and Salman Rushdie can now do so thanks to an expansion of the social network's pay-to-message-celebs program. The Facebook program, which launched in the U.S. in December, has now been expanded into the UK and 36 other countries, according to The Guardian.

HTC's Profit Dwindles After Delivery Delays

HTC is paying the price for the delays in the delivery of its flagship Android smartphone, the HTC One. Its Q1 income of NT$85 million ($2.8 million — a 98% drop from last quarter) has been the lowest in company's history, Bloomberg claims. The results are even more disappointing when you consider the analysts' estimates, who had hoped for a NT$600 million ($20 million) profit.
